COLLEGE CAMP FRIDAY

Bartle Hall Convention Center

Players will receive instruction from all four coaches during the 1.5 hour session.  All players will receive a camp T-Shirt.

Camp check-in will be located in Hall 2 of Bartle Hall/Convention Center, which is located upstairs. Follow signs to check-in which will be located next to the main tournament desk. Player check-in will take place the hour window before your specific camp starts.
Players don't need a wristband to enter Bartle Hall Convention Center.

Aleah Hayes
Trinity Valley CC Head Coach

Aleah Hayes is in her fourth year as head volleyball coach at Trinity Valley Community College. Coming into the season, Hayes, only the second coach in program history, was 56-40, including a 24-6 record in her first season in 2019.

In 2019, the Lady Cardinals qualified for the Region XIV Tournament as the No. 2 seed, the highest in the history of the program. Hayes assumed her first head coaching job at the college after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Columbia College, a NAIA school in Columbia, Missouri. She also has one year as an assistant at Evangel University and two years as a graduate assistant at Columbia on her resume.

​Hayes graduated with distinction from Columbia in 2014, where she played for two seasons, earning All-America honors. Upon graduation, she spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Columbia, where she was a part of the Cougars’ national championship team in 2015.

Dave Fleming
Colorado Mesa Head Coach
Dave Fleming took over the helm of the women's volleyball program in 2005. He is just the fourth head coach in the program’s history and is entering his 18th year as the Mavs' head coach, equal to the longest tenure in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Fleming also leads all active RMAC coaches with 321 career wins (321-166) and became just the fifth of now six coaches in RMAC history to reach 300 career wins while coaching in the league.  He has also won 219 RMAC matches and has a .716 winning percentage within the conference.

He has been named as the RMAC Coach of the Year four times, most recently in the spring of 2021, when the Mavs went 15-1 and won the RMAC's Regular Season title with a perfect 12-0 record while finishing third in the final edition of the AVCA Division II Coaches’ Poll after reaching as high as No. 2, both of which were program bests.
 
The success continued in the fall of 2021 as the Mavericks went 21-7 overall while qualifying for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the eighth time under Fleming.

Melissa Blessington
Ottawa University Head Coach

Coach Blessington is in her ninth season as head coach of the Ottawa University women’s volleyball program. She was named Director of Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Operations in the winter of 2016.

Through eight seasons, Blessington has an overall record of 220-86 and a KCAC record of 128-14. She has led the Braves to five KCAC Regular Season Championships, six KCAC Tournament Championships, seven NAIA National Tournament Appearances, and five NAIA Final Site Appearances. Blessington has coached 10 NAIA All-Americans, 14 AVCA All-Region selections, 48 All-KCAC performers, three KCAC Player of the Year, five KCAC Setters of the Year, one KCAC Libero of the Year, and one KCAC Freshman of the Year. She has also been named KCAC Coach of the Year five times.

The 2021 Braves continued to be not only one of the top teams in the KCAC but in the NAIA as well under Blessington's leadership. She led the Braves to a KCAC regular season championship, a KCAC tournament championship, and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. Ayona Tharps became the program's first three-time NAIA All-American and six Braves were named to the All-KCAC teams. Tharps was named Co-KCAC Player of the Year, the first Brave to earn player of the year twice. Adriana Skipper was named KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year and AVCA West-Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Blessington was named KCAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career.

Jamie Ashmore
Grand Valley State Assistant Coach

Jamie Ashmore was named as an assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team on August 10. 

Ashmore was a player in the GVSU women's volleyball program from 2005-2008. She was a four-year starter for the Lakers, where she led the team to its 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship. She was recognized as an All-American and earned First Team All-Region and All-GLIAC honors during her campaign at GVSU. During her junior and senior years, she was also recognized as the Most Valuable Player during the GLIAC conference tournament. 

Ashmore returns to the program after spending the last 10 years coaching for the Indiana University South Bend Titans, where she has been the one and only head coach of the volleyball program. She led them to four winning seasons and had 15 Titans named to CCAC All-Conference teams. During her tenure at IUSB, she accumulated a career record of 146-143 (.505) and led the program to three CCAC Championships and two NAIA National Tournament runs
​

Before leading the Titans, Ashmore was an administrator for the Dunes Volleyball Club in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She guided the club's 15U team to a first-place finish in the Bronze Division at the AAU Nationals in Orlando.

Jonathan Scott
Point Loma Head Coach
The 2022 season will mark the ninth season for coach Jonathan Scott at the helm of the Point Loma women's volleyball program.
 
During his eight seasons, Scott has led the Sea Lions to a 111-79 record. Scott took the Sea Lions' volleyball program to its first-ever NCAA West Regional appearance in 2015. 
 
Coach Scott has had 5 AVCA All-Americans under his helm, including an All-American campaign by the returning and reigning PacWest Libero of the Year, Courtney Dyer.
 
Prior to taking over the head coaching job in 2014, Scott served three years as an assistant coach as well as some time as associate head coach with the Sea Lions. During the 2013 season as an assistant coach during Point Loma's last year of transition into NCAA DII membership, Scott played a significant role in the team's march towards the NCCAA regional and national championships. The Sea Lions went 30-7 in 2013, just their third 30-win season in school history. PLNU also placed second in the PacWest with a 16-4 record.
 
He was awarded an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 award as one of the top up-and-coming volleyball coaches under the age of 30 in the country. He was one of just three NCAA Division II coaches to receive the prestigious honor.

Jason Rhine
Seattle Pacific Head Coach
In his 12 years of working his way up the volleyball coaching ladder, Jason Rhine has learned a lot about strategy – some of it for winning a match, some of it for winning in life.
 
Rhine, after spending the past seven seasons at Colorado Christian University, was named the new head coach at Seattle Pacific on April 8.

Rhine joined Colorado Christian as an assistant coach in July 2015 and was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2020-21 season. He spent four years as the setting and offensive coordinator, and three years as the defensive coordinator. He also was the program’s recruiting director.
 
Prior to his seven years at Colorado Christian, Rhine was an assistant coach for three seasons at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois (where he earned his master of divinity degree), and two seasons as the lead assistant at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. He has two bachelor degrees from Wheaton College: one in computer science, and one in Biblical and theological studies.
